Big Pines Trail

The Big Pines Trail is an approximate 3km long loop and is located at Km 40 of the Hwy 60 corridor. It takes you on hike through some large white pine trees and ends at a visit to an old logging camp from the 1880's. The Big Pines trail guide (available at the East and West gate as well as the trail entrance) talks about the ecology of the white pines and early logging history in Algonquin Park.

We give this trail 3 1/2 stars because of the extraordinarily large white pines and the novelty of seeing an old logging camp.
